History of the Foundation

In the present scenario where social, economic, physical and mental health problems are on the increase, and as the government is progressively withdrawing from the service sectors, an alarming situation has arisen where the poor and the marginalized find it extremely difficult to get quality health care and even a decent livelihood. It was at this juncture that the concept of a Foundation for Social Health arose in the minds of a group of committed individuals who were all active in their individual capacities, but felt it necessary to pool their resources to do some effective and creative social intervention. Foundation for Social Health was thus formed, which is now a registered Charitable Society (Reg. No. 343/06), operating from Innervision, Institute for Counselling & Psychotherapy, Ayyanthole, Thrissur.
